As part of its due diligence prior to the restoration of the foundation, the Friends of Beaverdams Church hired Burlington-based Archaeological & Cultural Heritage Services (ASI) to conduct a stage 1 and 2 archaeological assessment of the area around the foundation.

Project director Eva MacDonald along with project manager David Robertson and research archaeologist Doug Todd dug test holes around the perimeter of the church. Discoveries included evidence of prior restoration work, including nails and broken glass.
