Welcome to our
As work on the foundation nears completion it is useful to present a chronological overview of the progress.
Beginning in late 2016, the Ancaster-based Heritage Brick and Stone began the excavation of the historic building’s foundation.
The first stage was the removal of the original 184-year old foundation by machine and hand.
Second, a concrete foundation was poured and the rotten wooden sill replaced or restored.
Finally, the new foundation was enhanced with a fieldstone façade to replicate the way it would have looked in the early nineteenth century.
With the area is tidied up and new grass sprouting, the Friends look forward to a busy summer of activities, beginning first with the annual Spring Clean in late May, then a Heritage Day and Dedication weekend in early June and rounded out by the annual Yard Sale on June 17.
The Friends of Beaverdams Church are pleased the work was completed on time and at budget!
